We want to be straight with you about what Spanio is and isn’t — because the honesty is the whole point.
Spanio takes what you tell us about your everyday habits and maps it onto risk factors from published longevity research. From that it draws an educational estimateof your health trajectory and a plan of practical habits. That’s a tool for thinking — like a well-read friend pointing at the research — not a verdict, and not care.
Spanio is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It cannot examine you, order a test, know your history, or account for everything that makes your body yours. Nothing here should replace what a doctor, nurse, therapist, dietitian, or other qualified professional tells you.
Every number in Spanio is an estimate carried with an honest range— because that’s what the science actually supports. Population research tells you what tends to happen across many people; it can’t promise what will happen to one person.
And honest numbers move both directions. If you answer truthfully and your estimate goes down, that’s the tool working, not punishing you. Spanio is built to show you the real picture and then help — never to flatter you into a number you’ll stop trusting.
So you can weigh its estimates fairly, here’s what our engine does not know:
The research behind it also evolves, and effect sizes are averages, not guarantees. Treat Spanio as a thoughtful starting point for better habits, not the final word on your health.
Please talk to a qualified professional before making big changes to how you eat, move, drink, or take medication — and any time something about your health worries you. Don’t delay or ignore medical advice because of anything you read in Spanio.
If you’re in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, Spanio is not the place for that moment. In the US, call or text 988(the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or call 911, right away. Outside the US, contact your local emergency number or crisis line. Please reach a real person — you deserve that.
Use Spanio to understand your habits and take practical steps you feel good about. Keep your doctor in the loop. The estimates are here to inform your choices, not to make them for you.
